Warm Support with No Judgement

Living with children and dogs can feel joyful, complicated, and at times overwhelming. When things feel hard, it is rarely because anyone is doing something wrong. More often, families are missing clarity, shared understanding, or a plan that actually fits real life.

Supporting Children and Dogs at Home is a 6 to 8 week support programme designed to help families feel calmer, safer, and more confident at home. Using the DIAL guide, we focus on understanding behaviour, supporting the adults and children around the dog, and creating realistic changes that last.

This is not a quick fix or a single training session. It is a supported period of change, giving families the structure and guidance they need to move forward with confidence.

The DIAL guide explained clearly for parents

Throughout the programme, families are supported using the four areas of the DIAL guide.
See Your Dog
Learning to notice body language, stress signals, and communication so behaviour feels understandable rather than unpredictable.

Parent Your Dog
Creating routines, boundaries, and predictability that support emotional regulation and safety within family life.

Teach Your Crew
Helping children and adults learn how to interact safely and respectfully with the dog, reducing risk and building trust.

Create Your Plan
Bringing everything together into a clear, realistic family plan that fits your home, routines, and values.

The DIAL guide is provided in printed or digital format and is included in the programme. It normally costs £25.

Most dog training focuses on teaching dogs what to do. This programme focuses on helping families understand what is happening and how to respond in ways that genuinely help.

The DIAL guide is a human focused framework that helps families stop guessing and start making informed, compassionate decisions. It supports parents, children, and caregivers to work together as a team, reducing stress and improving safety for everyone involved.

How the programme works

This programme runs over 6 to 8 weeks and includes a minimum of 6 hours of professional support.

All families begin with an initial online consultation. This allows us to understand what is happening, ensure the programme is appropriate, and agree the best way to move forward.

Support is delivered predominantly online, allowing work to happen within your own home environment and everyday routines. In person sessions may be included where suitable for the dog and the people involved, but only after the initial consultation and where they add clear value.

A minimum of six hours is required to allow time for understanding, practice, and meaningful change. This reflects ethical family and child focused work rather than one off advice.

Programme options and pricing

Supporting Children and Dogs at Home is offered as a structured programme rather than individual sessions. All three package options include an initial online consultation and a minimum period of support, allowing time for understanding, practice, and meaningful change.

The initial consultation forms part of the programme and is where we begin exploring what is happening in your home, answering questions, and shaping the support around your family, your dog, and your circumstances.

If you are unsure which package option is the best fit, this can be discussed at the point of booking or during the first session.

Book Initial Online Consultation

You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. This programme is designed to help you start making sense of things, step by step, with support.
